How do I make my course Section 508 Compliant?

As we move our online courses to the new Moodle Joule teaching platform we will require that courses comply with the Section 508 Standard for accessibility. This is not that hard to do. The first step is to convert all teaching content to PDF  or use the HTML editor in Moodle to create and host your teaching content.

ADA compliance makes our courses better for all our students.  Paying close attention to our course work flow and how students access materials helps us to create a friendly and easy to use environment for all our students.

How can I make my course Section 508 compliant?

Both these options are pretty simple. If you choose to use the Moodle HTML editor then all you need to do in copy and paste your content from Word into the HTML editor and save.

Copy and paste content from Word

You can also save your content as a PDF directly from Word or PowerPoint and upload the PDF document into your Moodle course.
