The assignment activity in Moodle is the main assessment tool for many online courses. In it’s simplest form the Moodle Assignment tool allows you to easily give things to your students and receive things from your students.
The most common communication tool used in online learning is the Forum. It’s a pretty simple process to add forums in Moodle.
To have an effective online course you will need teaching content. You as the instructor and manager of the course need to be able to convert content to a web accessible format and then upload this content to Moodle.
